I initiated an independent design practice while in my mid 20’s, dovetailing with several years of trade show design realized for Exhibit Systems and Modus, entities based in Salt Lake City, Utah. The personal emphasis within the studio evolved to focus primarily on custom furniture design/fabrication and architectural detailing, though later also encompassing further creative work including film and video production as well as graphic design. I collaborated with independent craftsmen and artists to realize a wide variety of one-off designs, but also became versed in working with large-scale fabrication shops in order to produce limited edition concepts that could facilitate an evolving aesthetic and sales opportunities. The work produced in this manner allowed me to confidently take on a major exterior renovation of the Julian 32 apartment complex in Denver, CO, the most challenging and successful in my portfolio to date.
