More role as a curator has included numerous programs of digital animation and video art not specifically related to the annual Supernova Digital Animation Festival. My entry point in curating digital motion art occurred in 2012 with “SightLine,” an 80 minute program presented to the public on the 14th and Champa LED for Create Denver Week. The concept, success and challenges of this program paved the way for the more substantial curatorial initiative Friday Flash, which had a tremendous run for three years and ultimately led to the formulation of Supernova as a substantial, wide ranging curatorial initiative. Throughout my time with Denver Digerati I was fortunate to craft special programs for various partners or venues outside of Supernova. The following preview reels represent some favorites presented in both public and private venues that defy easy categorization.
Live events that I have VJ’d include GOCA Brilliant Fundraiser (2014), Crush Walls: Shepard Fairey x Denver Digerati (2018), Biennial of the Americas Havana Nights (2017) and Crossover: ATL x DEN (2022).
